Discussing NXP's incentive proposal before the City Austin

On this episode Bingham Group CEO A.J. Bingham and firm Economic Development Consultant Larry Holt discuss NXP Semiconductor's incentive proposal before the city of Austin.
BACKGROUND:
🔲 The Austin Council will take up final discussion and approval of NXP's application, under a Ch. 380 agreement, this Thursday (9.20.2023).
🔲 NXP's application, totaling $1 million (approx.) in incentives, is tied to it's larger pursuit of federal CHIPS and Science Act funding.
🔲 Passed in 2022, the CHIPS Act, dedicated billions of dollars to encourage investment in the U.S. semiconductor industry in part through tax credits and scientific research.
🔲 Companies pursuing CHIPS Act funding are required to have a local or state level funding match, such as a Chapter 380.
